IDA is pleased to introduce new educational materials to assist educators in inspiring students to become aware of environmental issues. These materials teach how current environmental concerns are perpetuated by light pollution, while keeping students excited and engaged.

Educational Resources

IDA offers teacher-friendly light pollution resources, designed to encourage students to develop critical thinking skills while building an awareness of the world around them. These sources will include activities on wildlife and our solar system, including Power Points, workbooks, games, and other activities.

IDA Presentations

In-class presentations bring an IDA speaker to the classroom. Our first presentation delves into the solar system and the future of astronomy. The second presentation focuses on wildlife and nighttime ecosystems. Currently this program is only available in the greater Tucson area.

Star Parties

Teachers and students can experience the wonders of the night sky through a telescope. This helps individuals develop an appreciation of the night sky and the nighttime environment. Currently this program is only available in the greater Tucson area
