The Symposium dealt with the issues of light pollution, its causes, its negative effects and possible remedies. Including:
- measuring methods of light pollution
- quality of dark sky parks
- efficient dark sky friendly lighting
- environmental impact (e.g. on insects, humans) of modern light sources (e.g. LEDs)

10th European Symposium for the Protection of the Night Sky:The Science of Light Pollution

The primary goal of this symposium is to exchange views among experts and activists working in the field of light pollution. The scientific program will be divided in several sessions, dealing with all aspects of obtrusive light. Special attention will be given to scientific results on biological and environmental impacts of light pollution and the modeling of obtrusive light. In addition, a seesion is dedicated to the interaction of light and architecture.
