Chapter Presentations and Member Discussion 

Turning the Tide on LEDs – mobilizing our grassroots to win the war on LED conversions and how IDA’s Phoenix leaders prevailed on the City’s planned conversion to 4000K. Presented by IDA Phoenix Chapter Leader Robert Hobbins and joined by IDA Chicago Chapter Leader Audrey Fischer.

Putting the “I” Back in IDA – IDA’s Bejing and Greece Chapters break new ground in reducing light pollution. Presented by IDA Bejing Chapter Leader Ruoyu Li and IDA Greece Chapter Leader Andreas Papalambrou.

Inspiring Citizen Activists into Action – Tips on mobilizing communities in support of dark sky policies. Presented by IDA Northwest Chapter Leader David Ingram, IDA San Bernadino County Chapter Leader Tom O’Key, and Bruce McMath, IDA Arkansas.

Special Lunch Presentation: The Making of the New Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument in Maine

• Join Mark and Susan Adams, Katahdin Woods and Waters Recreation Managers, to hear first hand the incredible behind-the-scenes story of what it took to create the 413th preserved area in the National Park Service system. 

Spanning almost 88,000 acres of pristine wilderness, the Monument contains some of the darkest skies in the entire Northeastern U.S.!

Join IDA Director and professional lighting engineer Chris Monrad for a night time tour of Tucson’s environs to explore some of the best … and worst … examples of the City’s dark sky friendly lighting. Free, but reservations required for bus tour – seating limited to 27 guests.
